PRESS RELEASE | 03 JUNE 2015
E-Commerce Subsidiary of Weng Fine Art AG proceeds
with Capital Increase - Successful Website Launch
WFA Online AG, which focuses on the art e-commerce business operations of
the stock exchange listed Weng Fine Art AG, is further strengthening its
financial base. As part of a cash capital increase, the company based in
Zug/Switzer-land issued an additional 500,000 new shares, half of which
were taken up by Weng Fine Art AG and the other half by its founder Rüdiger
K. Weng.
Through this cash inflow of CHF 625,000, the equity of WFA Online AG comes
to a total of approx. EUR 3.2 Mio., with which the company is comfortably
placed to cover not only its start-up costs, but also to secure a capital
adequacy ratio allowing it to hold up to EUR 5 Mio. in additional credit
lines. Moreover, in parallel to the capital increase, the share capital was
restructured: The share capital of CHF 3.125 Mio. is now divided into 5
Mio. "Ordinary Shares, Class A" with a par value of CHF 0.25 each, and in
1.5 Mio. "Ordinary Shares, Class B" in nominal value of CHF 1.25 per share.
Finally, new statutes were adopted.
Meanwhile, WFA Online AG presented its e-commerce platform "Weng
Contemporary" to the general public on 28 May, 2015. The public launch is
accompanied by an exhibition in London, which was opened last Thursday.
Over 150 editions are available on www.wengcontemporary.com by artists such
as Gerhard Richter, Jeff Koons, Robert Longo, Peter Doig and Alex Katz.
Initial reports in the international media highlight the maximum
transparency of the website, since WFA Online not only guarantees
availability and prices of artworks offered, but also quotes prices for
many important editions that it is buying.
