The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rheda-Wiedenbrück, 13.02.2015 In the 2014 financial year, Westag & Getalit AG generated revenues of EUR223.1 million, which was somewhat lower than the prior-year level of EUR224.2 million. A weak final quarter of 2014, with a 5.5% year-on-year loss, slowed down the positive performance to date. A 7.2% loss in export revenues, due in part to declining business with Russia, had a particularly negative effect. Export revenues for the year dropped by 3.1% to EUR44.7 million (2013: EUR46.2 million). However, domestic revenues increased, although our fears expressed in the last quarterly report about a decline in the German economy were confirmed. There was lower demand in our markets as at year-end in Germany. EBIT in 2014 was EUR8.9 million (2013: EUR9.1 million). The reasons for the slight decline were mainly due to lower revenues in the final quarter, especially in exports. The annual net profit developed in line with EBIT and was EUR6.4 million. Employee headcount increased year-on-year by 17 to 1,301 as at 31 December 2014. This was due in particular to the conversion of temporary employment contracts to full-time contracts. All of the figures listed are preliminary and are subject to the review of the annual financial statements, which is still ongoing. The final year-end results and a proposal for the application of profits will be announced after the Supervisory Board approves the annual financial statements on 24 March 2015. Effective 1 March 2015, Mr Franz David, an experienced industry insider, will be appointed to the Management Board of Westag & Getalit AG. As Board member and head of surfaces/elements, he will succeed Mr Markus Sander, who left the company as at 31 December 2014. Thus, in future, Mr David will be in charge of the company's decorative and technical surfaces business.
