capsensixx exceeds 2019 forecast with leap in earnings and starts successfully into 2020

Frankfurt am Main, 27 April 2020 - capsensixx AG (ISIN DE000A2G9M17) has closed fiscal 2019 after the focusing on the profitable core investments Axxion S.A. and Oaklet GmbH with a leap in earnings and recorded a successful development in the first quarter 2020, too. The forecasts for the fiscal year were exceeded both for the earnings indicators and the Assets under Administration.

The 2019 EBITDA of the Group of EUR 10.1 million in accordance with audited figures according to IFRS accounting was very significantly above the prior year value of EUR 7.9 million. The prior year data were adjusted within the framework of the preparation of the current financial statements because of subsequently established impairments in the former consolidated company coraixx, which was deconsolidated at the end of 2019. Axxion (share in the EBITDA of around 80%) and Oaklet (share of around 20%) made equal contributions to the successful development of the result. The consolidated net income for the year from continuing operations according to IFRS leaped by 56% from EUR 4.7 million to EUR 7.4 million and testifies to the high earning capacity of the two core investments. The net income for the year including the discontinued operations amounted in 2019 to a total of EUR 5.1 million after EUR 2.3 million during the previous year and after minority interests to EUR 2.4 million after EUR -0.6 million during the previous year. As a result, the earnings per share turned to EUR +0.70 after EUR -0.25 in the prior year.

The Assets under Administration rose through the end of the year 2019 to about EUR 9 billion and were hence EUR 500 million above the year-end value 2018. The net commission income amounted on a Group level to EUR 23.3 million during the past fiscal year and was slightly above the prior year value of EUR 23.0 million. As at 31 December 2019 capsensixx had cash in banks in the amount of EUR 7.4 million as well as financial instruments and other financial assets of EUR 5.5 million; the equity ratio amounted to 44 percent at the end of the year. Against this backdrop, capsensixx sees itself as very solidly positioned.

The successful development of capsensixx has also continued during the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Despite the turbulence on the financial markets caused by the COVID-19 virus, the first quarter 2020 ended profitably and with a net income after minority interests above the comparative prior year period. The concrete impact of COVID-19 on the economic and business development in the further course of the year cannot yet be reliably forecasted for the moment. At present, capsensixx anticipates a positive result for fiscal 2020.

Given the restrictions due to COVID-19, capsensixx will hold its ordinary general meeting for the past fiscal year originally scheduled to take place at the end of June 2020 probably in autumn 2020.
