Provinzial NordWest launches new cloud-based, online commercial insurer with support from adesso

The Provinzial NordWest Group relied on the adesso Group's IT expertise and the in|sure product family for the launch of its new digital commercial insurer andsafe. This marks the first time adesso has made an insurance company's entire application landscape and IT architecture available in the cloud, while also taking over the operation of the platform. Corporate customers are already able to take out insurance at the web address www.andsafe.de.

Provinzial hired adesso insurance solutions GmbH as the general contractor for this ambitious IT project, who also took care of the provision and setup of the backend systems within the scope of its overall responsibility. This included the supply of software components from its in|sure product family for the areas of policy management, claims management, product management, collection/disbursement and commission as well as partner management. The adesso team also comprised the digital business experts from the adesso subsidiary ARITHNEA and the hosting specialists from adesso as a service. Thanks to their combined efforts all business processes can now be handled on the platform, from initial contact to customer consultation and service through to the conclusion of contracts. As the first product from the new digital insurer, companies and businesses are now able to purchase and take out a liability insurance policy online. In the coming months, andsafe will continue to expand its portfolio with further products for commercial customers.

With andsafe now going live, adesso has proven that a new insurance company's entire application landscape can be made available from the cloud within a very short time on the basis of its own in|sure product family. In total, it took only half a year to go from commissioning to having the platform operational. in|sure base licenses booked in the first quarter of 2019 accounted for a smaller proportion of the income in the lower single-digit million euro range.

Provinzial selected adesso as part of a tender process: "We were looking for an experienced allrounder for the development of our digital commercial insurer that could offer the necessary specialist and technological leadership. adesso has a wide range of products and solutions in all the relevant areas of technology and was able to offer us the IT services we needed from a single source. adesso's willingness to assume overall responsibility for the technical and creative implementation was an important selection criteria for us," says Dr Thomas Niemöller, Executive Director for IT at Provinzial NordWest.
