While LPKF already has seven service and sales subsidiaries in China, distributors have been supplying South Korea so far. "From 2014 onwards, we will be able to attend to our clients' needs on-site with our own service and sales employees." Bretthauer has already found a Managing Director for the new subsidiary. Peter Birkner will be responsible for the company's expansion in Seoul. Prior to this, Birkner successfully headed the restructuring of customer service as well as sales support on-site for a German solar company in South Korea while taking into account the local and cultural circumstances. The goal is to have about 20 qualified service and sales employees at the new offices by the end of next year. South Korea is one of the 20 most important economies worldwide.
