Francotyp-Postalia enters into partnership with Büroring
- 350 specialist retailers to offer FP solutions
- Cooperation reflects customer demand for a regional one-stop-shop
Birkenwerder, 5 March 2014 - The listed company Francotyp-Postalia Holding
AG (FP), the leading multi-channel provider for mail communications and
accredited De-Mail provider, has announced that it will henceforth be
working with Büroring eG, a purchasing, marketing, sales and service
cooperative. The partnership with Büroring, which is an umbrella
organisation for roughly 350 independent retailers, represents the next
step in the specialist retail strategy launched by FP in autumn 2013.
A natural partnership
To expand the existing network of retail partners, the long-established
company based in Birkenwerder near Berlin, has joined forces with
traditional specialist retailers from the printing and copying segment
together with IT system companies. The cooperation makes sense "because
local retailers already offer services spanning the entire document
workflow", according to Büroring's Managing Director, Ingo Dewitz. "These
retailers tend to provide customers with all systems upstream and
downstream of mail processing, such as ITC, printers, photocopiers,
scanners and document management systems (DMS)."
Through the partnership with FP, specialist retailers will now be able to
offer their customers a whole range of mail communication products and
services, from franking systems through to the innovative De-Mail solution.
Specialist retailers will therefore be able to provide a comprehensive
customer service, while end users will benefit from additional products and
services provided by a trusted business contact. "The cooperation is a
natural progression," explains FP CSO Thomas Grethe. "The move has been
welcomed by retailers and we are delighted to have established such a
promising partnership with Büroring."
End customers want a one-stop-shop
Büroring will now offer FP products and solutions as an integral element of
managed document services, which are constantly being refined. The first
round of cooperative members are currently in the approval and training
phase, and will soon start selling FP products and solutions. "We have
found that, as a rule, end customers with up to 500 workstations want a
one-stop-shop, preferably provided by a business with strong regional
ties," concludes Dewitz. "Only local specialist retailers can meet that
requirement. FP recognises that this is what we are good at, and is now as
market leader for mail communications boosting the role of specialist
retailers."
Francotyp-Postalia will be holding a press conference entitled "FP offers a
winning new specialist retail model" at CeBIT. The conference will take
place on Monday 10 March at 2 p.m. in Room 17 of the Conference Center.
Büroring's Managing Director Ingo Dewitz will also be present and will be
happy to discuss matters in detail. To register for the conference and for
