AURELIUS sells Getronics-IDS to the strategic Investor SEP
- Sale in connection with Getronics Group's strategic focus on its core
businesses
- Previous Getronics-IDS management remains on board
- New owner supports the chosen path
Munich - October 5, 2016 - The Getronics Group, a subsidiary of AURELIUS
Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8), sold its German
subsidiary Getronics-IDS to the strategic Investor SEP as part of its
efforts to sharpen its focus. As the largest independent service partner
for digital transformation in the workspace environment, the Getronics
Group is thus continuing its successful positioning and concentration on
its core businesses Workspace, Applications, Cloud, and Unified
Communications. The Getronics Group will continue to operate in these
strategic business areas on the German market. Getronics-IDS generates
revenues of around EUR 90 million per year. The parties have agreed to keep
silent about the purchase price.
The Getronics Group has been part of the AURELIUS Group since 2012 and
operates in Europe, South America, and Southeast Asia with more than 5,000
employees, offers an integrated service portfolio for end user services and
has shown an above-average improvement in profitability over the past few
years with revenues of around EUR 550 million (including Getronics-IDS).
The Cloud business (connectis Managed Cloud, CMC), which was acquired from
Colt Group S.A. in April 2016 and has since then been successfully
integrated in the Getronics Group, represents an integral component of this
service portfolio. CMC is active in 11 countries with a customer base of
more than 600 customers. The capacities in the Managed Cloud segment were
substantially and sustainably expanded as a result of the acquisition of
CMC. The first cross-selling activities with existing Getronics customers
have already led to the formation of new contracts. The integration should
be successfully completed over the course of the 2016 fiscal year.
AURELIUS had acquired Individual Desktop Solutions GmbH (IDS), an
independent service provider for flexible onsite desktop services and
solutions, in the fall of 2014 from T-Systems International and integrated
it into the Getronics Germany Group. Since then, the course has been set
for a future as an integrated and broadly positioned system integrator
under the existing management, which will also remain on board after the
sale. brightONE, likewise an AURELIUS Group entity that was acquired in
2013 from the Finnish Tieto Group, was also brought into the Getronics-IDS
Group in this context. Following an extensive phase of hiving off from the
corporate environment of the previous parent company T-Systems
International as well as Tieto, the company covers an integrated portfolio
for German small and medium-sized enterprises and large companies with
desktop solutions and development and software solutions. After the
integration is completed, the buyer SEP will focus in particular on further
expanding the consulting business and digital solutions.
