2G Energy AG creates rental sales tool for CHP systems by founding 2G
Rental GmbH
New order intake at the beginning of 2015 already exceeding expectations
Heek, Germany, February 10, 2015 - With the founding of 2G Rental GmbH, 2G
Energy AG (ISIN DE000A0HL8N9), one of the leading German manufacturers of
combined heat and power (CHP) plants, has created an attractive proprietary
tool to sell its CHP systems, thereby strengthening and broadening its
sales base. As a CHP system manufacturer, 2G is consequently offering its
customers a one-stop shop rental alternative to the direct purchasing of
its combined heat and power energy generation concepts. Under the slogan of
"Innovation without Investing", the CHP system rental model will be
available on the market immediately through 2G's sales operations,
especially in the technically standardized 2G CHP output class between 20
kWel and 550 kWel, as well as in the higher output range in the case of
standardized container solutions. These valuable CHP systems are generally
to be returned to the manufacturer at the end of the rental contract. Such
standardized products can easily be utilized at other deployment locations,
thereby minimizing the risk entailed in placing them elsewhere. This
consequently makes it easier to establish a second-hand market for
technically obsolescent 2G CHP systems. It also enables 2G CHP systems to
be sold in countries that have not been tapped for new systems on any
sustained basis to date due to affordability.
The rental model is appropriate for durations of between four and nine
years, and is primarily oriented to utilities and energy service providers.
2G explicitly excludes management of the 2G CHP systems and related
additional services, referred to as contracting offerings. Initial project
inquiries have already been examined as to their viability. The rental
model of 2G Rental GmbH will be presented to a broader customer base for
the first time at "E-world", the groundbreaking utility trade fair to be
held between February 10 and 12, 2015.
The company, which is based in Germany's Münster region, offers additional
benefits to potential clients: investment decisions and protracted
financing considerations are not required. Monthly rental payments can be
made via the economic benefits entailed in the energy saved through
deploying the 2G CHP system. Transfer of the systems to customers includes
concluding a full service agreement between the customer and 2G.
2G Energy AG is thereby responding to growing customer demand to expand
decentralized combined heat and power in a simple manner that is sparing on
liquidity and available on an installment basis. 2G secured the refinancing
of the 2G Rental GmbH business through its house banks.
New order intake at the beginning of 2015 already exceeding expectations
Exceeding expectations, new order intake has performed well during the
first weeks of 2015. Further order inquiries about CHP systems and CHP
utility concepts are also at a pleasing level. The brisk and broad-based
interest following the holiday period is encouraging, as it is occurring
largely independently of estimates and expectations relating to the
regulatory environment in Germany. Among the foreign markets, Japan is to
be highlighted, where 2G anticipates year-on-year revenue growth in 2015.
In January 2015, 2G received new orders for the delivery of 36 CHP systems
with a total value of EUR 9.5 million from various application areas. The
export share of this new order intake amounts to around 20 %.
2G Energy AG short company portrait
2G Energy AG is amongst the world's leading manufacturer of cogeneration
systems (CHP) for decentralized energy production and supply by means of
combined heat and power. The company's product portfolio includes systems
with an electrical capacity between 20 kW and 4,000 kW for the operation
with natural gas, biogas or bio methane and other lean gases. So far, 2G
was able to successfully install thousands of CHPs in 33 countries.
Especially, in the performance range of 50 kW to 550 kW 2G posses own
technological combustion engine concepts characterized by low specific fuel
consumptions, a high operational availability and optimized service
intervals. Next to the main production site at its headquarter in Heek,
Germany, the company has invested in an additional production and sales &
service site in St. Augustine, Florida, USA. 2G's customers range from
farmers to industrial clients, municipalities, real estate industry, up to
municipal utilities and big utility companies. The high level of customer
satisfaction is founded on the close-knit service network as well as the
high technical quality and performance of 2G power stations. Thanks to the
combined heat and power performance they achieve an overall degree of
efficiency between 85 percent and well above 90 percent. To further enlarge
the technologically leadership the company continuously invests in its R&D
activities for gas engines for the use of natural gas, biogas and synthetic
gases (e.g. hydrogen). Next to the construction of combined heat and power
stations, the company, located in Westphalia in the north-west of Germany,
offers integrated solutions reaching from the planning stage and
installations to serial service and maintenance work. Due to its decentral
locations, scalability and projectable availability combined heat and power
stations shall play a crucial role as part of intelligent networked energy
systems - so called virtual power stations - within the ongoing switch to
clean energy and within modern concepts of energy supply.
2G Energy (ISIN DE000A0HL8N9) is listed in the Entry Standard of Deutsche
Börse AG. The share capital amounts to EUR 4,430,000, and is split into
4,430,000 shares. As of December 31, 2014, the company's founders held 56.1
