PANTAFLIX AG: PANTALEON Films-Production RESISTANCE celebrates Premiere in the USA - German cinema release on November 12, 2020

Munich, March 09, 2020. PANTALEON Films, the wholly owned film production subsidiary of PANTAFLIX AG (GSIN: A12UPJ, ISIN: DE000A12UPJ7), celebrates the US premiere of the international production RESISTANCE. On March 15, 2020, the film will be screened to industry professionals and fans at the Cinequest Film Festival (California, USA) with director Jonathan Jakubowicz in attendance. RESISTANCE will also be shown at various festivals in the USA, including

- the Boulder Film Festival,

- the Omaha Film Festival,

- the Charleston Film Festival,

- the Film Class screening in New York

- and the Miami Gems Film Festival.

The distribution of IFC Films for the US cinema release is scheduled for March 27, 2020. In Germany, Warner Bros. Pictures Germany will bring "RESISTANCE - Widerstand" to the cinemas on November 12, 2020. Cineastes can already get a first impression when watching the US trailer that PANTALEON Films released in early February.

The story is inspired of true events. Marcel Marceau's (Jesse Eisenberg) influence as an entertainer - from the Moonwalk to Bip the Clown - is legendary. But as an underground French Resistance fighter, the untold story of his youth is just as extraordinary.

In occupied France, Marcel and his family lived in fear of Nazi Commander Klaus Barbie (Matthias Schweighöfer), who was on a personal mission to crush the fledgling Resistance. With the war closing in, Marcel put aside his dreams of being in the spotlight for a life in the shadows. With a talent for forgery and a miscellaneous sense of humor, Marcel played a vital role in many dangerous missions, such as transporting children through the Alps to the safety of Switzerland. From the brothers he fought alongside with, to the children he saved, Marcel's spirit and determination touched the lives of thousands. In other roles appear Ed Harris, Clémence Poésy, Édgar Ramírez, Félix Moati, Bella Ramsey , Karl Markovics and Alicia von Rittberg.

RESISTANCE is produced by PANTALEON Films GmbH in cooperation with Epicentral Studios, Rocket Science, Vertical Media, Neptune Features, Riverstone, Ingenious Media and Bliss Media. Resistance Film US acts as co-producer. As part of the special program International Co-Productions, RESISTANCE was supported by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF) with subsidies of two million Euros.
