Schaltbau Holding AG: Bode Group strengthens management team with Uwe Gerber as new COO

Munich/Kassel, 10 January 2020 - Uwe Gerber has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Gebr. Bode GmbH & Co. KG with effect from 15 February 2020. The Bode Group has thus bolstered its management team with a further highly knowledgeable expert.

"We now see ourselves as ideally equipped to expand our business activities with door systems into the automotive sector as well."

As Chief Operating Officer, Uwe Gerber ideally complements the existing Bode management team, consisting of Dr Jörg Willert (Managing Director Road Vehicles), Thomas Giebisch (Managing Director Rolling Stock) and Gerhard Knöbel (Managing Director Finance).

In more than 20 years of relevant professional experience, Mr Gerber initially acquired extensive practical knowledge at all levels of production in an international environment, including the positions of design engineer, project manager, head of prototype construction and plant manager. He was then responsible for the plants in the USA, Mexico and China including logistics in North America. Apart from ABB, the most important professional stations in Uwe Gerber's career include the automotive supplier Behr and Mahle, where he was most recently global COO of MAHLE Industrial Thermal Systems GmbH & Co. KG, responsible for coordinating the company's plant managers worldwide as well as for global process planning.

Furthermore, his vocational training as a mechanic, advanced training as a mechanical engineering technician and a degree in industrial engineering give him a very broad base of practical and theoretical knowledge.
