MPC Capital steps into the healthcare real estate market
 
- Initial portfolio of three medical centres in the Netherlands
- Pipeline for further growth with committed capital and further assets in the pipeline

Hamburg/Amsterdam, 13 March 2019 - MPC Capital AG (Deutsche Börse Scale, ISIN DE000A1TNWJ4) has launched a new healthcare strategy within its Real Estate asset unit. The new strategy, which has been implemented by MPC Capital's Dutch subsidiary Cairn Real Estate, has most recently reached the financial close of a capital raising, having secured a total of EUR 30 million in equity. Cairn Real Estate is set to leverage this capital to further grow the portfolio with the aim of reaching a total of circa EUR 70 million.

The initial investment and development portfolio consists of three medical centres across the Netherlands. In addition to these, the company has also initiated the development of a primary care medical centre in Alphen ad Rijn and the construction of a new private nursing home in Bodegraven.

In addition, there is a shift towards primary care from expensive inflexible hospitals and an increasing demand for smaller nursing homes rather than the large traditional nursing homes. This is fuelling the need for further healthcare assets in the country."

Together with international institutional investors, MPC Capital plans to purchase additional healthcare development and portfolio projects in the Netherlands.
