adesso fosters further organic growth by establishing new lines of business

In line with its growth strategy, the IT consulting and software development company adesso is laying the organisational foundations for further industry diversification and expansion of its business. In addition to its existing core industries, adesso has now also moved into the plant and mechanical engineering sector with a separate Manufacturing Industry line of business (LoB). Furthermore, adesso is consolidating existing services centred on business intelligence (BI), big data and data analytics into a new Data & Analytics LoB to open the door to more strategic development in these areas. adesso is also establishing a new Global Business Line LoB to provide multinational clients with sales and other services in an even more holistic and cross-border framework. Another specialist segment has been added to the Health LoB in the shape of the Life Science business area. In terms of technology, the range of consulting and software development services on offer in the Salesforce portfolio is set to be expanded.

adesso is not developing these markets from scratch, rather pursuing the strategic development of its business by serving markets through separate organisational units. These areas of business have been in high demand from clients over the past few years and have become even more significant to adesso's business development in the process.

adesso is staying true to its industry-specific orientation even after 20 years. Alongside its existing core industries of Insurance, Banking, Health, Public Administration and Lotteries, the Automotive & Transportation segment recently recorded growth of 40 % and now accounts for 5 % of total sales. The manufacturing industry is the next in line, following the tried and tested model of developing an industry and achieving sustainable market penetration. Demand here for efficient and smart digitalisation solutions has increased markedly. adesso has already successfully positioned itself in the Manufacturing Industry LoB with a number of renowned clients, including Bosch, Ecoclean, Festo, Muhr und Bender, Salzgitter, Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen, Trilux, Wilo and Wago. In addition, adesso also possesses another strategic asset in the shape of an in-house platform for developing internet of things applications.

The new, non-industry-specific Data & Analytics LoB pools together units with similar focuses within the adesso Group and brings them under one roof at adesso AG. The service portfolio and existing client and business partner relationships will remain in place, but will now be able to be expanded further. The reason behind the restructuring is the fact that the portfolio in the Data & Analytics market has increased in size by a considerable margin. The increasingly widespread integration of big data platforms and data science solutions marks a seismic shift in the industry that crosses manufacturer and technological boundaries. The new adesso structure is about rising to meet the challenges this shift poses. This area of business will be focused on the major software developers, a broad range of big data solutions and an increasing number of experts in the area of data science.

The expansion of the adesso service portfolio will also be implemented from a technological perspective. Besides established offerings for Microsoft and SAP technologies, adesso has also set up a competence centre for Salesforce applications. Here, the IT service provider will be integrating services and consulting based on adesso's market-leading applications for cloud-based customer relationship management and related sales and marketing solutions.
