DIC Asset AG, one of Germany's leading listed property companies, published its sixth sustainability report on its homepage at www.dic-asset.de. The report adopted the new GRI Standards framework by the Global Reporting Initiative, including extra disclosures in line with the GRI Construction and Real Estate Sector Supplement (CRESS). The reporting criteria identified by the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) for sustainability reports were also taken into account again. Following the three-pillar model of sustainability, the sustainability reporting of DIC Asset AG covers the economic, environmental and social aspects of its business activities. Relevant highlights during the reporting period include the following, among others: * When allowing for portfolio changes (like-for-like approach), the indirect power consumption in the examined properties of the Commercial Portfolio was lowered by 4.6% and water consumption by 1.4% during the period of 2015 through 2017. * An annual survey that DIC Asset AG conducts among its tenants revealed that a significant proportion of them has now switched to carbon-neutral green electricity. The company itself has been getting the common-area electricity for its owner-occupied premises entirely from carbon-neutral energy sources since 2010. * Its compliance guideline for employees, which was adopted in 2013, was comprehensively revised in 2017. The company also appointed a compliance officer and introduced a whistleblower system that gives employees the option to report misconduct inside the company in anonymised form.
