For the control and monitoring of the gas grid, bayernets operates a highly available, central control system at its Munich site. The new system will replace the PSI GAMOS system that has been in operation for many years. The hardware of the new system will be highly available and fail-safe. The software will be implemented with the standard components PSIcontrol/Gas, PSItransport, PSIprognose, PSIconnect as an interface module, PSIganesi for online gas grid simulation and PSIganproda for processing verifiable gas measurement data. These applications will completely cover the range of services required for bayernets' new control system. The bayernets GmbH, headquartered in Munich, transports natural gas through a 1,412 kilometer-long, high-pressure grid in Bavaria. With a network area of 32,000 square kilometers, the company is one of the largest gas grid operators in Germany and offers customers a high degree of supply security and quality. In the southeast, bayernets connects the German gas transportation system to the Austrian pipeline system by means of import and export points and, subsequently, provides transportation customers a door to the eastern European gas market. In 2015, the transportation volume was 103 billion kWh. With this project, bayernets and PSI continue their long-term and successful partnership of customer and supplier.
