Nabaltec AG among the 50 fastest-growing mid-sized companies in Bavaria
- Awarded the Bavaria's Best 50 prize for economic stability and
sustainability;
- Based in Bavaria and successful on the global market with eco-friendly
flame retardants and products for technical ceramics.
Schwandorf, 4 August 2015 - Nabaltec AG was recognized for its economic
stability and sustainability last week by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic
Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology as part of the "Bavaria's Best 50"
competition, signifying that the company numbers among the 50
fastest-growing mid-sized companies in all of Bavaria. The prize winners,
who were chosen from a pool of 2,000 applicants, received their
certificates last Wednesday in person from Economics Minister Ilse Aigner
in an award ceremony held in the Emperor's Hall of the Munich Residence
building. Gerhard Witzany, Member of the Board of Nabaltec AG, said: "This
award is a great honor for us and confirms once again that we have made the
right decisions in the past in order to place our company in a strong
position for the future. It is due above all to our employees, whose daily
work and commitment actually have made our company's success possible."
The Bavaria's Best 50 competition, which was held this year for the 14th
time, recognizes owner-managed mid-sized Bavarian companies which have
posted especially strong growth in recent years in terms of revenues and
the number of employees. In addition, special prizes were once again
awarded this year for an outstanding commitment to training. The auditing
and consulting firm Baker Tilly Roelfs was responsible for conducting the
competition, and acted as a juror as well.
"Bavaria's Best 50 were selected and recognized today based on their
outstanding revenue and employee growth over the past five years,"
explained Prof. Dr. Edenhofer, one of the jurors and the Baker Tilly Roelfs
partner responsible for Bavaria's Best 50: "But what's important is not
just employee and revenue growth, but also the prospect for continued
business success, that is stability and sustainability, and for this reason
the selection process also paid attention to profitability, a good equity
ratio and the forecast for the future."
"We have demonstrated in recent years that our strategy works and that it
is, above all, sustainable. We plan to continue on this course in the
coming years as well, and we will continue to distinguish ourselves from
our competitors through quality, high delivery reliability, customized
solutions and innovations. Our goal is not just to post stable revenue and
earnings growth; rather, we are working diligently to further expand our
market position," said Gerhard Witzany, summarizing Nabaltec AG's plan for
the coming years.

About Nabaltec AG:
Nabaltec AG, with registered office in Schwandorf, a chemicals business
which has received multiple awards for innovativeness, manufactures,
develops and distributes highly specialized products based on aluminum
hydroxide ("ATH") and aluminum oxide, as well as other raw materials, on an
industrial scale through its "Functional Fillers" and "Technical Ceramics"
divisions. The company's product range includes halogen-free flame
retardant fillers and eco-friendly additives for the plastics industry.
Flame retardant fillers are used e.g. in cables in tunnels, airports,
high-rise buildings and electronic devices, while additives replace
stabilizers containing heavy metals in PVC processing. Nabaltec also
produces base materials for use in technical ceramics, the refractory
industry and catalysis. Unlike halogenated flame retardant fillers, the
products manufactured by the company's "Functional Fillers" division
contain no hazardous substances and do not require separate disposal.
Rather, the company's flame retardant fillers actually decrease the
development of fumes hazardous to human health and the environment in the
event of fire. Nabaltec maintains production sites in Germany and the US
and plans to continue to consolidate its market position by expanding
capacity, further optimizing processes and quality and making strategic
extensions to its product range. On the strength of its specialty products,
the company strives to attain the market leadership in each segment.
