- Framework agreement with Fuji Electrics strengthens sales base in the
regions of Japan and South-East Asia
Heek, March 24, 2015 - 2G Energy AG (ISIN DE000A0HL8N9), a leading German
manufacturer of cogeneration (CHP) systems, has been awarded a contract by
Münster-based BASF Coatings GmbH for the installation of a complete
cogeneration plant (CHP power plant) powered by natural gas with an
electrical output of 4.4 MW. The electricity generated by the CHP power
plant will be fed into the BASF site grid via a 10 KV medium voltage
facility and the waste heat generated of around 4.0 MW into the site's own
local heat network for heating purposes.
The BASF contract is one of a series of larger orders placed by prestigious
companies from the producing and the food industries, as well by utilities
companies that can refer to reference projects already installed. In recent
months, the demand for 2G power plants fueled by natural gas, as well as
the number of contracts signed have increased significantly. Companies are
opting to upgrade their supply of energy. In these endeavors, the use of
waste heat for heating or production processes or the conversion into
cooling through absorber technology, plays a key role. In this way,
industrial enterprises leverage the efficiency advantages of the 2G CHP
power plants in their existing energy infrastructure, thereby instantly
achieving a high level of cost efficiency.
Companies placing orders for 2G systems include, for instance, Enercon GmbH
in Aurich, one of the leading technological producers of wind turbines, a
well-known manufacturer of LEDs, fruit juice producer Albi GmbH & Co. KG in
Berghülen, and other companies from the food and capital goods industries.
2G signs framework agreement with Japanese Fuji Electrics
At the start of March, 2G signed a framework agreement with Fuji Electrics
& Co., Ltd, Tokyo, Japan, for the sale of 2G CHP power plants in Japan and
in the region of South-East Asia. 2G intends to accelerate its market
penetration in the Far East through this sales cooperation with Fuji
Electrics (annual revenues in 2014 of around EUR 6 billion, market
capitalization of around EUR 3.4 billion). The framework agreement gives
Fuji Electrics the sole rights to sell 2G CHP power plants in an output
range of between 600 kW and 2000 kW, provided that an agreed minimum
quantity of CHP systems is purchased. Since 2004, 2G has steadily been
developing a sound position in the Japanese market, with sales figures
recently climbing. This basis convinced the Fuji Group to sign a partner
agreement with 2G as the leading manufacturer of CHP systems from Europe.
2G has extended its existing distributor network in Japan through this
strategic partnership with the aim of raising its sales, also in the higher
output segment, via Fuji Electrics' excellent reputation. Japanese
technology providers are also realizing projects with CO2 abatement
potential in South-East Asia in a targeted manner, also through CHP
systems, and using this channel to generate emission allowances for
Japanese industry, thereby enabling Japan to achieve its CO2 reduction
target.
2G Energy AG short company portrait
2G Energy AG is amongst the world's leading manufacturer of cogeneration
systems (CHP) for decentralized energy production and supply by means of
combined heat and power. The company's product portfolio includes systems
with an electrical capacity between 20 kW and 4,000 kW for the operation
with natural gas, biogas or bio methane and other lean gases. So far, 2G
was able to successfully install thousands of CHPs in 35 countries.
Especially, in the performance range of 50 kW to 550 kW 2G possesses own
technological combustion engine concepts characterized by low specific fuel
consumptions, a high operational availability and optimized service
intervals. Next to the main production site at its headquarter in Heek,
Germany, the company has invested in an additional production and sales &
service site in St. Augustine, Florida, USA. 2G's customers range from
farmers to industrial clients, municipalities, real estate industry, up to
municipal utilities and big utility companies. The high level of customer
satisfaction is founded on the close-knit service network as well as the
high technical quality and performance of 2G power stations. Thanks to the
combined heat and power performance they achieve an overall degree of
efficiency between 85 percent and well above 90 percent. To further enlarge
the technologically leadership the company continuously invests in its R&D
activities for gas engines for the use of natural gas, biogas and synthetic
gases (e.g. hydrogen). Next to the construction of combined heat and power
stations, the company, located in Westphalia in the north-west of Germany,
offers integrated solutions reaching from the planning stage and
installations to serial service and maintenance work. Due to its decentral
locations, scalability and projectable availability combined heat and power
stations shall play a crucial role as part of intelligent networked energy
systems - so called virtual power stations - within the ongoing switch to
clean energy and within modern concepts of energy supply.
2G Energy (ISIN DE000A0HL8N9) is listed in the Entry Standard of Deutsche
Börse AG. The share capital amounts to EUR 4,430,000, and is split into
4,430,000 shares. As of December 31, 2014, the company's founders held 56.1
