(DGAP-Media / 22.09.2014 / 10:00) Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection presents award to Nabaltec AG for its successful participation in the pilot project "From Environmental Management to Sustainability Management" Schwandorf, 22 September 2014 - Nabaltec AG was one of nine medium-sized companies presented with awards acknowledging their participation in the environmental pact pilot project "From Environmental Management to Sustainability Management". The presentation took place at a press event held by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection on 15 September 2014. The pilot project "From Environmental Management to Sustainability Management", the only one of its kind in Germany, centred on the development of an online tool which is now available to all interested companies. Comprising a check list, a guideline and practical case studies, the "Sustainability Management for SMEs" online tool provides exempt from charges practical help for companies' efforts in the area of sustainability management. The online tool can be downloaded from the website of the Infozentrum UmweltWirtschaft (IZU) of the Bavarian State Office of the Environment (http://www.izu.bayern.de/nachhaltigkeitsmanagement). Within only eight months, the companies which participated in the pilot project expanded their existing ISO 14001/EMAS Environmental Management System into a Sustainability Management System. In doing so they benefited from expert advice provided at four workshops and three individual counselling sessions. During this time the companies contributed to the development of the materials, tested them in practice and fed back their experience and recommendations to the developers. The project is a joint pledge involving the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Chambers of Crafts under the ongoing Bavarian Environmental Pact entitled "Sustainable Growth with Environmental and Climate Protection".
